Rotary Club of Quatre-Bornes Celebrates 40 Years of Service Above Self
The Rotary
Club of Quatre-Bornes is marking its 40th Anniversary with a renewed commitment
to Service Above Self, launching a series of initiatives focused on
environmental sustainability, empowerment, education and the wellbeing of
future generations.
The milestone will be celebrated on 8 October 2026,
marking 40 years of Service Above Self, humanitarian action and fellowship.
Founded in 1986, the Club has touched countless lives through initiatives
supporting education, health, environmental protection, youth development and
community wellbeing.
Rather than
simply looking back, the Club is using its 40th year as a springboard for the
future. Guided by the Rotary International theme “Create Lasting Impact,” it is
focusing on practical and sustainable initiatives designed to address today's
challenges while creating benefits that endure.
Environmental sustainability will be a key
priority, with tree-planting campaigns, environmental awareness programmes and
community clean-up initiatives aimed at encouraging greater responsibility
towards the environment.
The Club is also promoting the empowerment and
safety of women and girls, including a self-defence programme designed to build
practical skills, confidence and resilience, alongside initiatives supporting
women's wellbeing and leadership.
Education remains a cornerstone of its humanitarian
mission, with support for schools and disadvantaged children through books,
school supplies and educational resources. The Club continues its contribution
to health and community wellbeing, while strengthening collaboration with
Rotaract and Interact to encourage youth leadership, volunteerism and active
citizenship.
As part of
its 40th anniversary celebrations, the Club will host the 40th Anniversary
Charity Golf Tournament, while strategic partnerships with businesses, NGOs,
institutions and public authorities will further strengthen the reach and
impact of its humanitarian initiatives.
At the heart of the Club’s 40-year journey are its members, whose dedication, time and spirit of Service Above Self have turned compassion into action and made a lasting difference in the community. Our commitment remains the foundation of the Club’s enduring legacy.
