Thirteenth cyclone bulletin for Mauritius issued at 1300 hours on Wednesday 02 February 2022

At 13.00 hours, intense tropical cyclone Batsirai was centred at about  130 km to north of Mauritius in latitude 18.7 degrees South and longitude 57.1 degrees East. It is moving towards the southwest at about 18 km/h and continues to approach the island. Cyclonic conditions will persist over the island until evening.

Domaine des Pailles: 119 km/h
Riviere Noire: 108 km/h
Grand Bassin: 108 km/h
Le Morne:115 Km/h
Vacoas: 109 km/h
Riche Terre: 100 km/h
Bell Village: 99 km/h
Nouvelle Deouverte: 97 km/h

Highest rainfall recorded over the last 12 hours until 1000 hours are as follows:

Vacoas: 112 mm
Wooton: 107 mm
Quatre Bornes: 95 mm
Moka: 92 mm
Mare aux Vacoas: 81 mm
Wooton: 107mm
Bell Village: 65 mm
