Learning, Purpose and Preparation at Mauritius Post Ltd Workshop at Hennessy Hotel, Ébène 

The Ministry of Technology, Information and Communication, led by Honorable Dr Avinash Ramtohul, recently participated in a workshop centered on mindset, self-awareness and growth in the workplace by the Mauritius Post Ltd.

Quoting Bruce Lee — “Empty your cup, so that it may be filled” — the Minister urged participants to leave behind daily worries and fixed ideas, and to remain open to learning at any phase. The session encouraged a culture of continuous improvement, inspired by modern leadership thinking.

Through a reflective exercise, participants were invited to ask themselves three simple but powerful questions:

* Who am I? 

* What am I? 

* Why am I?

The goal was to reconnect individuals with their purpose, both personally and professionally.

Dr Avinash Ramtohul also highlighted three types of people found in any organization:

* Those who make things happen

* Those who let things happen

* Those who wonder what happened

Discussions further touched on motivation at work, preparation over chance, and the importance of breaking old habits when facing challenges. Participants were reminded that success comes when preparation meets opportunity, and that authenticity matters more than perfection.

The workshop concluded with reflections on accountability and effective management, including references to the concept of monkey management, shared with the staff of Mauritius Post.
